A perfect match

When you share the same name as the bride AND it is the same spelling, you know it is going to be the perfect match! (This is actually the second Jamie I have worked with and both Jamies were just lovely ladies and amazing to work with!!) Jamie & Andrew’s wedding at the Tidewater Inn brought together some of the best vendors on the shore to create a simply stunning event. The August heat didn’t deter these guests from having a blast! With greenery added to all the bistro lights in the tented reception area, as well as all of the chandeliers in the Gold Ballroom, combined with lush centerpieces, lots of candles and elegant draping, the reception was overflowing with florals!

heavenly blooms

Nothing says elegance more than an all-white wedding! Shayla & Michael’s entire day looked like it came from the pages of a magazine. She was absolutely stunning and just exuded so much joy the entire day! The ceremony arch and the chandeliers in the tent were the most important floral installations for this couple. The arch was fully covered in white hydrangea, roses, spray roses, and faux cherry blossoms. Centerpieces varied from individual vases of white roses to crystal bowls overflowing with all white blooms, and romantic candlelight throughout.

pretty in pink

Blush tones have been a wedding classic for years now, but we are seeing a resurgence of “pinker” shades! And it really is a perfect choice for weddings in early June, when locally grown peonies are in full bloom. We are also seeing a return to church ceremonies, which allows for more emphasis on the reception decor. The dancefloor was highlighted by an impressive 8ft square greenery chandelier with rattan basket lights and hanging florals, while a full garden graced the white stagefront.

extra special day

I have flowered weddings of relatives and friends in the past, but being able to design for Olivia & Nathan’s wedding was extra special! Olivia & Nathan met & fell in love when both worked for our farm produce stands as teenagers. They actually lived right around the corner from each other in a small town that sits on the border of two counties, so they had attended different schools and likely would never have gotten to know each other without Taylor’s Produce! Olivia became my first J.Starr’s employee while she was also in school for her dream job of becoming a paramedic. Nathan also worked on our farm for awhile after high school until landing a great job at NRCS, where he has excelled. It has been such a pleasure to have been a part of their journey to their wedding day! Olivia gave me her general vision for her day of an Eastern Shore coastal vibe with neutral tones and olive greens…and let me take it from there!! To add to the fun, my husband was asked to officiate the wedding, a first for him, and he did a great job!

roaring 20’s

I LOVE a themed wedding!!!! And is there anything more fun than a Gatsby party? Taking inspiration from the venue manor house, this roaring 20’s style wedding was a blast to design with huge ostrich plumes, crystal accents, black taper candles, and flashy gold and black decor. Some guest even got into the theme with their 20’s style attire. As the sun went down, the lights came up with a curtain of string lights throughout the tent ceiling casting a glow over the dance floor.
