Blush & white romance on the potomac
featured on Destination i do
It was one of the most windy days we have had to set up, with white caps breaking on the riverfront. But you would never know it by the beautiful images captured of the day! We incorporated a lot of texture and seasonal blooms to add interest to a classic color palette. The reception decor consisted of low and high arrangements with abundant candlelight. Florals from the arch were repurposed to the large fireplace mantle. The bouquets and centerpieces were standout for this wedding and have since been used as inspiration for many other clients! The most memorable moment of the day occurred when we returned to clean up at the end of the night. As we were searching for some missing tall candle hurricanes, the Latina mother of the bride very animatedly says, “IT BLEW UP!” And all I could think was, how did a glass cylinder explode and was anyone hurt??? Fortunately, we quickly realized that what she meant was that the glass blew OVER (and it had only cracked). As mentioned, it had been windy and the venue opened the sides of the pavilion later in the evening. We still laugh about it to this day!
